Hochhauser allegedly smashed into a vehicle in the 7700 block of East Country Club Drive in Boca Raton on Wednesday.
The following is a key section of the lengthy police report filed by the arresting Boca Raton Police officer: “I then met with Jessica. I asked Jessica what happened today, and she replied that officers had been investigating her and she’s drunk. I immediataly smelled a strong odor of an unknown alcoholic beverage emanating from Jessica’s breath and person. Jessica’s eyes were also bloodshot and glossy. She was also unsteady on her feet and swaying continuously. Based on my observations, I was concerned that Jessica had been operating a motor vehicle while under the influance of alcohol and/or a chemically controlled substance. Ofc. Gonzalaz had informed me that he concluded his accident investigation, and so I then informad Jessica that the accident investigation was concluded since she had no infornation to provide. I advised her that I was now conducting a criminal DUI investigation to determine if during the accident she had been impairad. Jessica advised she understood. I than read Jessica her Constitutional Warnings fron a preprinted card issued by BRPD. Jessica advised she understood.
According to Jessica, prior to the accident she was heading home. I asked her where her home was, and she replied, “in South Florida.” I asked her where in South Florida, and she replied, “North Palm Beach.” I then asked her if she knew her address, and she replied, “6413. 614.613 North American Beach.” She advised she was not coming from anywhere. I asked her again where she was coming from, and she replied, “613..313..” She could not tell me where she was coming from. She also did not know where she was; she believed she was in The Keys. She did not know where she was. I then told her that she was in Boca Raton. She then replied that she does not do any drugs in Boca Raton. I then asked her if she does any drugs in general. She replied, “kinda.” She stated she did not take any illegal narcotics recently, but she used to do cocaine a long time ago. I then asked her how much she had to drink tonight. She replied, “I don’t know.. a good amount.” I asked her how many drinks specifically, she replied she had 4 beer cans. I asked her where she was when she had the four beers. She replied, “right here. ” she could not tell me where she was when she consumed the beers. I then asked Jessica if she would be willing to participate in field sobriety tasks to dispel my alarm that she is under the influence of alcohol and/or chemically controlled substance. Jessica agreed to participate in the tasks.”
Jessica, according to police, did not successfully complete the field sobriety examination. She later refused to provide a breath sample.
