A Boynton Beach teen is dead after allegedly slamming into a fire truck while riding a motorcycle. It happened in the area of 1325 South Congress Avenue in Boynton Beach.

BOYNTON BEACH, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2025 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — A Boynton Beach teenager is dead after police say he slammed into a Boynton Beach Fire Truck that was responding to a call with its lights and sirens active. Jacob Chalmers of Country Lake Circle died after hitting the fire truck around 7:30 p.m. Saturday.

According to the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office, “the fire truck was traveling northbound approaching the 1325 block of South Congress Avenue, attempting to make a left turn. Leading up to, and at the time of the collision, the fire truck was operating with its emergency lights and sirens active.

Jacob Chalmers, operating a 2023 Vitacci XM-250, was traveling southbound on South Congress Avenue within the center lane, approaching the 1325 block. As Chalmers continued southbound, the fire truck began its left hand turn directly into the path of the motorcycle.

During the ensuing collision, the front of the motorcycle collided with the rear of the passenger compartment on the passenger side of the fire truck.” Chalmers was 18 yeas old.
