BOCA RATON. DELRAY BEACH. SEARCH FOR SOURCE…

UPDATE @ 10:30 p.m. from Palm Beach County Fire Rescue: “PBCFR has been dispatched to multiple reports of smoke in the western Boca/Delray area since approximately 7pm. No flames or fire has been found in our response area. We have reached out to our local fire rescue partners, and they also have not reported any large fires. FWC has not reported any controlled burns in our area today. There have been some prescribed agricultural burns in fields recently. They have remained under control, and PBCFR has not been requested to assist. The gusty winds we have had today may be bringing smoke from the glades to our west. We understand the smoke has been thick in the western Boca area, and will continue to monitor the situation and advise if we get any updated information.”
UPDATE @ 8:49 p.m. — We note there are controlled burns in the Everglades, although officials are not saying that is the cause of the smell at this point.
UPDATE @ 8:40 — The smell is now being reported as far east as I-95, west to at least 441. South to at least Palmetto Park Road, and north past Atlantic Avenue. No fire, however, has been found.
UPDATE @ 8:21 — We just received word from Palm Beach County Fire Rescue that they continue to respond to multiple calls regarding the smoke condition but no source has been found yet. We continue to receive reports that it is extremely strong in the area of Yamato and 441.

Smoke and haze in Highland Beach.
On neighborly someone said it’s the wells Fargo on the corner of 441 n glades rd
It’s not. Don’t believe rumors. Multiple fire departments are trying to locate the source.
Wierd you can smell something burning all the way in Delray. I can’t even go outside
There’s been a glow, looks like fire, in the community just behind us. On my map looks like the street is Via Di Veneto. I think the community may be San Remo off Lyons.
“Weather Bug” website show a fire in the Everglades, West of Boynton Beach near US27. West wind could bring smoke to the areas calling in. I am in nw Parkland near Everglades and can smell smoke.
