BOYNTON BEACH, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2025 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — A West Boynton Beach man remains in the Palm Beach County Jail Saturday morning following his arrest by Florida Highway Patrol on multiple charges. Cody Bell of Verona Lakes Drive was taken into custody late Friday afternoon.
While the arrest report continues to be processed Saturday morning, BocaNewsNow.com has obtained jail records and citations issued by FHP. The charges as they stand now: three counts of “fleeing or eluding at high speed,” two counts of “moving traffic violation — first offense,” two counts of “moving traffic violation, reckless driving — first offense,” and and one count of possessing drugs or controlled substance without a prescription.
Records indicate that Bell was stopped in the area of Lantana Road and I95. He was heading westbound at the time of the incident. Language from the tickets, as written by an FHP Trooper, explains more of what is alleged: “Flee/elude officer/disregard safety of others. Fled lights and sirens active. Recklessly ran multiple red lights. 100MPH+ on a city road. Willful and wanton 109 in a 65 mph zone. Improper lane changes. Following too closely.”
One ticket also states that Bell was in physical possession of Oxycodone. He remains held without bond early Saturday morning. Bell was apparently driving a 2017 white Mercedes sedan at the time of the incident.
