Major Crash On I-95 Near Palmetto Causing Huge Backup

An I-95 crash is causing major delays northbound near Palmetto Park Road. (FDOT).

UPDATE: 12:12 p.m. — I-95 is back to normal — as normal as it ever is.

UPDATE: 11:19 a.m. — While there were issues in both directions, the crash was actually NB not SB. We apologize for the confusion. Traffic is moving now in both directions, although the express lanes remain slower than the normal lanes.

UPDATE @ 10:58 a.m. — Traffic is very slowly starting to move. Expect issues in the area for a while, but it appears that FHP has reduced the size of the scene to one lane.

BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2025 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — A serious crash on I-95 has closed multiple lanes northbound in the area of Palmetto Park Road. The crash was first reported around 10:20. Lanes remain blocked as of 10:40. 

BocaNewsNow.com has learned at least three vehicles were involved. It appears that the crash started in the express lanes, with at least one car spinning into the regular travel lane. FDOT cameras show major backups in the area. Boca Raton Fire Rescue is on the scene and working with at least three injured people who are being rushed to area hospitals. This may continue to be a crash scene after the victims are transported. The damage is said to be significant.

Florida Highway Patrol is investigating the crash. Our guidance: get off of I-95 NB by Hillsboro Boulevard, head north on Powerline/Jog, then re-enter at Glades Road or further north.
