BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2025 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — A badly abused in-bred dog is being nursed back to health this morning by the professionals at Tri-County Animal Rescue in Boca Raton. Once “Winnie” is ready, Tri-County will need to find her a home. Tri-County shared with BocaNewsNow.com the horrible story of what happened, and what you may be able to do to help:
>>The Tri-County Animal Rescue in Boca Raton, Florida has just saved an extremely sweet, 9-month-old French bulldog named Winnie that is in terrible condition because of severe in-breeding and neglect Winnie was found as a stray and brought to the Palm Beach County Animal Care and Control Animal Control. Tri-County Animal Rescue, which often steps in to help the most difficult cases, was made aware of the situation and stepped in.
The sad fact is that Winnie’s horrible condition is in part due to neglect, but primarily due to in-breeding. She is blind with one eye falling out, her kidneys aren’t formed correctly AND she has heartworms. She is not microchipped, but they estimate that she is only 9 months old, still a puppy. Winnie now at Tri-County undergoing medical treatment and evaluation. Blood work has been taken and she had an ultrasound and x-rays, which is how they discovered her kidneys were underdeveloped. They are so very small. The team reported that she is drinking water like crazy, which could be a symptom of other issues.
They will biopsy her eye, but she needs to be stronger first. She is on antibiotics for her heartworm and because of her kidneys they will have to treat this with the slow kill method, so she does not go into shock of kidney failure. This case is an extreme example of just what can happen with inbreeding to try to get “designer dogs.”<<<<

This story makes me feel so very sad at the humans that do this to animals, especially a puppy. I hope the people who’s responsible is found and punished. It shouldn’t be shocking when you consider what some people do to each other. This world needs something to change them. I hope these people are punished.
