Why Would A Personal Injury Law Firm Support “Bagel Eating Jew” Slur?

WELLINGTON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2025 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — The flag football league at the center of an ongoing antisemitism controversy — after multiple witnesses said a parent called a volunteer coach a “Bagel Eating Jew” — just had a lawyer demand that BocaNewsNow.com retract and apologize for our reporting on the controversy. Attorney Daniel Zuniga of the law firm “Personal Injury Of Florida” in West Palm Beach threatened us on behalf of Western Communities Football League. He demanded that we apologize and retract our story. We’re not retracting anything, nor are we apologizing.
As we first reported, the March 15th incident happened during a flag football game at Pierson Park in Wellington. That’s when a multiple witnesses say a parent screamed to coach Michael Servetnick, “go eat a bagel!” Witnesses say the same parent then screamed, ‘shut up you bagel eating Jew!”

Instead of immediately banning the alleged antisemite from the stands, the Western Communities Football League sanctioned Servetnick for walking towards the stands in an effort to find out who made the slur. Multiple sources tell BocaNewsNow.com that while Servetnick was suspended immediately, it took four days for Western Communities Football League leadership to sanction the man who called Servetnick a “bagel eating Jew.”
Attorney Zuniga seems to have been given a different set of facts from league leadership. He claims that the man making the antisemitic slurs was immediately kicked out which is not true, according to sources and electronic communication reviewed by BocaNewsNow.com. Here’s what Zuniga wrote:
“The Western Communities Football League (WCFL) formally requests a correction, retraction, and apology regarding your March 19, 2025, article titled “Bagel Eating Jew!” Antisemitism At Wellington Flag Football Game. The article falsely claimed that the individual responsible for making the antisemitic slur was permitted to remain at the game. This statement, along with several other misrepresentations, are categorically false.
In fact, WCFL took immediate action in accordance with their established By-Laws, Coaches’ Conduct and Parent Conduct Policy. The two individuals were promptly identified and suspended accordingly. The league, after further investigation, discovered further policy violations by Mr. Servetnick which warranted further disciplinary measure.”
Pursuant to Florida Statute § 770.02, we demand that Boca News Now issue a full and fair correction, retraction, and apology in the same prominence as the original article. The inaccurate reporting has caused undue harm to the reputation of WCFL and has misrepresented the unwavering stance against antisemitism and all forms of discrimination.”

If there’s one element that Attorney Zuniga got right, it’s that multiple sources confirm that the league engaged in official “victim blaming,” finding a reason after it suspended Servetnick to justify the suspension.
“What kind of league investigates the victim of antisemitism after they became a victim?” asked a member of the league. “That makes it seem like the league is looking for a reason to say ‘it’s okay you were called a bagel eating Jew. You deserved it.’ The league needs to apologize now. It’s embarrassing. And it keeps getting worse.”
Servetnick remains suspended. He demands a public apology, immediate reinstatement, and a permanent ban of the man who made the antisemitic slur. A lawsuit is possible.
BocaNewsNow.com has learned that the State of Florida and the Anti Defamation League are both aware of the situation and may be opening independent investigations. The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office also documented the incident. The Western Communities Football League is sponsored by The Fellowship Of Christian Athletes, Dick’s Sporting Goods, At Your Service Garage Doors And Windows, Investors Realty, PaintLux, and Zillmer Wealth.
BocaNewsNow.com identified league leadership as President Josh Zillmer, Vice President Marc Bongiovi, Second VP Hunter Mandrodt, Third VP Chris Wilson, Treasurer Tia Cearley, and Secretary Amy Gerlitz.
