UPDATE @ 11:22 a.m. — A1A just reopened.

BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2025 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — A bicyclist believed to be in his mid-50s was struck by a vehicle on Ocean Boulevard Friday morning in Boca Raton. Sources tell BocaNewsNow.com that the man was found unconscious by witnesses who called 911. 

As of 10:15 a.m., A1A near Camino Real remained shut down as investigators with the Boca Raton Police Department continue to determine exactly what happened. It was not immediately clear what led to the crash, whether the striking driver remained on the scene, or where the bicyclist was at the time he was struck. 

We have learned that the victim regained consciousness before being rushed to Delray Medical Center by Boca Raton Fire Rescue. His condition is unknown. 

Expect delays on A1A in both directions throughout the morning. Check back for updates.
