BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2025 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — A critical crash on Glades Road near University Commons has closed three eastbound lanes on Glades as of 9 a.m. The crash involves two vehicles, one of which was carrying a pregnant woman. While the specifics of the are crash are unclear, EMS professionals countywide tend to fly pregnant women involved in crashes to St. Mary’s Medical Center.
Boca Raton Police remain on the scene as of 9:25. It is unclear if other people were injured in the wreck or the types of vehicle involved. Expect traffic to be significantly backed up in the area for a while. Trauma Hawk was dispatched to nearby Boca Raton Airport.
The chopper was headed to St. Mary’s as of 9:40 a.m. St. Mary’s Medical Center is considered a leading trauma center and hospital for pediatric and maternity-related medical problems in Palm Beach County.
