BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2025 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — A major immigration rights rally targeting President Donald Trump and his continued efforts to negate the United States Constitution is expected near the Florida Atlantic University campus in Boca Raton. Sources tell BocaNewsNow.com that thousands of people could attend, although we note it is a holiday weekend.

The protest is targeting “due process” and Miami’s Krome Avenue Detention facility — a facility used to house people on allegations of immigration violations. The protest, as of Friday afternoon, is not expected to include Boca Raton-based GEO Group, a private prison company that runs several immigration holiding facilities on behalf of Immigration and Custom Enforcement (ICE). We are publishing the official “Action Network” statement on the upcoming rally:

>> We demand the United States government respect the due process that is our right, and we demand the humane treatment of detainees at Krome Detention Facility, who are being held without due process in horrific conditions. We demand the United States government respect the capacity limits in the detention center, allow detainees access to legal counsel, and allow the press and local government officials access to the facility.

Practical Details

  • Protest will be near but not at FAU, near the Whole Foods corner of the I-95 x Glades intersection
  • Bring water, a hat, sun-screen, and an additional sign
  • Stay on the sidewalk and spread out so we don’t block pedestrian traffic

Why Adjacent to FAU?

Florida Atlantic University (FAU) has recently partnered with ICE for on-campus immigration enforcement. Given the administration’s willingness to seize people off the street and argument that someone’s “expected beliefs” are grounds for detention without due process, we are both alarmed and enraged that FAU is so eager to shred the civil liberties of members of our community. <<

Learn more about the planned rally here. It is expected to run from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. at 1400 Glades Road which is the area of Glades Road and I-95. The most recent Boca Raton rally focused on Donald Trump and Elon Musk attracted an estimated 2000 people and was peaceful.
