
BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2025 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — A Boca Raton resident and Palm Beach County School District employee is set to be fired in early May. Jamie Martinez of Boca Raton works as a custodian for the school district. He allegedly engaged in “gross insubordination” earlier this year.
BocaNewsNow.com obtained a copy of the termination notice sent to Mr. Martinez’s home address in Boca. It is expected to be ratified during the School Board’s May 7th meeting:
“Dear Mr. Martinez: Based upon information presented to me, I hereby inform you that there is “just cause” , which can be substantiated by clear and convincing evidence, to warrant your termination from your position as a Custodian. I will recommend your termination from employment at the Wednesday, May 7, 2025, School Board Meeting, which will be held at 3300 Forest Hill Boulevard, West Palm Beach, FL 33406. This action is taken in accordance with sec. 1012.22, Fla. Stat. and sec. 1012.27, Fla. Stat.
On or about March 3, 2025, you became the subject of an Office of Professional Standards investigation based upon allegations of policy violations related to Allegation 1: Failure to follow Rules/Policies/Procedures. Allegation 2: Gross Insubordination. At the conclusion of the investigation, the allegations were substantiated.
Therefore, these actions violate the following: Allegation 1: Failure to follow Rules/Policies/Procedures, Policy 1.013 (1) Responsibilities of School District Personnel and Staff, Policies 3.02 (4)(a), (4)(b), (4)(d), (4)(f), (4)(j) Code of Ethics, Policy 3.80 (1) Leave of Absence. Allegation 2: Gross Insubordination, Policy 1.013(1) Responsibilities of School District Personnel and Staff, Policy 3.10 (6) Conditions of Employment with the District.”
It was not immediately clear what specifically how Mr. Martinez was insubordinate, or if he was assigned to a specific school. The termination has been approved by the Palm Beach County School District’s legal team.
