DELRAY MEDICAL CENTER RECEIVES “F” GRADE. SO DOES WEST BOCA MEDICAL CENTER. BOCA REGIONAL LOGS A “B” AND DOESN’T SUE.

BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2025 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — Several hospitals owned by Tenet Healthcare (NYSE: THC) and operating under the “Palm Beach Health Network” brand, including Delray Medical Center and West Boca Raton Medical Center, are trying to quash free speech. That’s the claim of the company behind Leapfrog Hospital ratings and rankings which just graded Delray Medical Center and West Boca Medical Center as “F” Hospitals.
We told you on Wednesday that Palm Beach Health Network — the local operating name for Tenet Healthcare — is suing Leapfrog Group on the grounds that it’s publishing inaccurate data. We note that Boca Raton Regional, run by Baptist Health, received a B. Baptist is not suing or claiming that the data — provided in part from the United States government — is inaccurate.
BocaNewsNow.com received this statement from Leapfrog President and CEO Leah Binder after we published the lawsuit announced in a press release by Tenet Health:
“(Palm Beach County) residents should be very concerned when local hospitals – Delray Medical Center, Good Samaritan Medical Center, Palm Beach Gardens Medical Center, West Boca Medical Center and St. Mary’s Medical Center – waste money and court time to try to suppress publication of critical information their patients deserve to know. Leapfrog will win in court as we always do. But nobody wins at the bedside, where patients are needlessly at risk for suffering and even death because these hospitals have not done enough to protect them.
When we look at these hospitals’ results from Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), we see preventable suffering and death far exceeding the national average, and even the national average is too high. Instead of using their resources to file frivolous lawsuits, they should be improving how their patients are treated. That is the leadership communities expect from their hospitals.
These hospitals may wish to withhold their hospitals’ Safety Grades from the community they serve, but Leapfrog intends to fully defend its expert, proven and long-standing methodology to prevent that from happening and publish Grades for all eligible hospitals, including these hospitals. Please review the Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grades for spring 2025 which are available for free on hospitalsafetygrade.org.”
St. Mary’s Medical Center received a D, Palm Beach Gardens Medical Center received an F. Both are Tenet properties. Bethesda East and West (Baptist Health) both received a C. Wellington Regional Medical Center received a C.
