BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2025 MetroDesk Media, LLC) (Updated 12:15 p.m.) — What appeared to be an FBI raid at AuraMed Aesthetics at 176 East Boca Raton Road Friday was actually part of an online theft investigation. AuraMed executives, in a statement to BocaNewsNow.com, say they were lied to when purchasing equipment online. Here is the statement issued just after noon on Friday:
“We purchased certain equipment online from an eBay seller, claiming he was liquidating his MedSpa in Ohio. We have now come to learn that the equipment was allegedly stolen from the original owners of the MedSpa in Ohio. We have been fully cooperating with the FBI since they reached out to us to inquire about the status of the equipment and how it came to be in our possession.
Today, the FBI came to our office to confiscate the equipment in question which we fully cooperated with its return. We were the victims of fraud and are out tens of thousands of dollars. We will be fully open and operating on our normal schedule starting tomorrow. No patients or services will be impacted.”
Witnesses told BocaNewsNow.com that as many as 20 agents and support personnel in FBI tee-shirts arrived around 9 a.m. Friday in vans and cars. Witnesses told BocaNewsNow.com that they observed equipment being taken from the Med Spa. Those observations seem to confirm the statement issued by AuraMed.
Special Agent W.J. Creech in the Miami Field Office told BocaNewsNow.com that agents were engaged in “court authorized activity in the area of Boca Raton Road.” The Boca Raton Police Department confirms that it is not involved in the investigation.
