BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2025 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — Amanda Kirshbaum of the 18000 block of Fresh Lake Way in Boca Chase told police in North Palm Beach that she wasn’t drunk and hadn’t been drinking. But that didn’t stop officers from arresting her after she refused to prove that she wasn’t under the influence. Kirshbaum now faces a year without her license.
According to a report obtained by BocaNewsNow.com, Amanda Krishbaum, 25, was stopped by North Palm Beach Police on Sunday morning — around 1:36 a.m. — in the area of Northlake Boulevard and Southwind Drive. Kirshbaum told police she was, “coming from dropping her friend in Jupiter. I then asked Kirshbaum what she and her friend were doing before she dropped her friend off, and she stated that they just went to dinner. I then asked Kirshbaum if she had anything to drink tonight and she stated that she did not.”
Also wrote police: “I noticed that her face was flushed, she had red glassy eyes, slurred speech, and she had a strong odor of an unknown alcoholic beverage coming off her breath.”

Kirshbaum, according to police, refused to take part in field sobriety exercise. The report says police reminded her of her “Taylor Warnings” which means the refusal can be used against you in court — but that didn’t sway Kirshbaum from her refusal. She also, according to police, refused to provide a breath alcohol sample once she was transported to a testing facility. That can lead to an automatic license suspension in the State of Florida under implied consent.
Amanda Kirshbaum was arrested and charged with DUI. She was booked into the Palm Beach County Jail and later released on $1,000 bond. A court date is pending.
