BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2025 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — By late Friday afternoon, summer will officially be underway for public school students in Palm Beach County. This is the the Palm Beach County School District’s final day of school for the 2024-2025 school year. Teachers continue to work through Monday.
School is not out for private school students. Most area private schools continue through at least next week with exams. St. Andrew’s School in Boca Raton, according to an online calendar, continues for another two weeks. Private schools tend to use a “northeast” calendar — starting closer to Labor Day and ending in early to mid-June.
Summer is short-lived for Palm Beach County School District students. The 2025-2026 school year starts on August 11th, with teachers required to return to work on August 5th. Students at the private St. Andrew’s School return on August 18th, with American Heritage — consistently ranked as the leading private school in Florida — starting on August 25th.
As we wrote over the weekend: we remind our readers who like to drive quickly: kids may be out and about all day on routes that have largely been kid-free during the school year. Police tend to increase speed enforcement patrols near playgounds, pools, camps, and other kid-friendly locations during the summer months.
