National Hurricane Center map for Tuesday, June 3, 2025.

BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2025 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — There is an area of low pressure being watched by forecasters at the National Hurricane Center just three days in the Atlantic Hurricane Season. While it poses no immediate threat to anyone, it is notable that there is already activity as the season gets underway. Again we note: it seems everyone’s playing along with the “Gulf of America” name. It, of course, refers to the Gulf of Mexico.

Here is the official update from the NHC:

>> Tropical Weather Outlook NWS National Hurricane Center Miami FL Issued by the NWS Weather Prediction Center College Park MD 200 PM EDT Tue Jun 3 2025

For the North Atlantic… Caribbean Sea and the Gulf of America:

Offshore of the Southeastern U. S. Coast: A non-tropical area of low pressure is forecast to form near the southeastern U. S. coast along a frontal boundary during the next couple of days. Environmental conditions appear only marginally conducive for the low to gradually develop some subtropical or tropical characteristics later this week if it forms or moves offshore the coast. The low is forecast to move east of North Carolina over the Atlantic by late Friday or Saturday.

Formation chance through 7 days…low…10 percent. Formation chance through 48 hours…low…10 percent.<<

  1. Your remark about the Gulf of America actually being the Gulf of Mexico, had no place in the article. Mixing weather with politics is not something too many will appreciate.

What are you talking about with that snark comment, “Playing along?” That body of water is now the Gulf of America.

Trump won. Boca voted for him. Check your liberal fantasies or move to Broward County.

  3. To all those with TDS – you do realize that the Gulf is in the center of North America, Central America and South America – All these countries can be referred to as America. And I agree, no comment on the weather has any need for political bias.

  4. What a disrespectful comment. The name is now GULF OF AMERICA,
When the President renamed it,you should have been pleased. I’m sure if it were renamed the gulf of Boca news, you would have been pleased. Is this an article about weather or your political views?? If it’s about YOUR PERSONAL politics, don’t headline it Hurricane Center.
I was interested in the weather when I read the article….not your opinion…you miss labeled the headline!
