PALM BEACH COUNTY, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2025 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — A man in his 70s sustained just minor injuries Sunday afternoon when the car he was driving was struck by a northbound Brightline Train. It happened in the area of East Lantana Road and the Brightline tracks.
According to sources familiar with the rescue operation providing details to BocaNewsNow.com, Palm Beach County Fire Rescue received the call for help around 2:52 p.m. First responding rescuers found a car with significant damage and a man inside. Despite the heavy damage and the involvement of a Brightline train, the man did not require extrication from the vehicle.
The man was evaluated by paramedics on the scene and rushed to St. Mary’s Medical Center as a precaution. He apparently was either unaware that he was on train tracks, or unaware that a train was coming. No one on the Brightline Train was injured.
The investigation is now underway into how the crash took place, whether signals in the area were operating, or whether the man drove onto the tracks, disregarding active train signals. Northbound trains are delayed as a result of the incident Sunday afternoon.

Train has the right of way.
End of story.
I have suggested for years that more safety feature will be added along the whole route of BRIGHTLINE HIGH-SPEED TRAIN like 24 hour/7 days a week real time video cameras to reduce crashes and deaths.
