Long Lines. Frustrated Customers. Big Tech Problem.

UPDATE: Systems are back up.
BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2025 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — You may want to delay that Walmart trip for a bit. Systems in Walmart locations across South Florida are down as of late Monday afternoon. Lines, we are told, are long in many area locations as customers are trying to check out — only to be told that they can’t.
Walmart Spokesperson Lindsey Coulter confirmed the outage to BocaNewsNow.com around 4:30 p.m. eastern time Monday.
“We are actively working to resolve this issue and expect business operations to return to normal shortly,” she said. She did not immediately respond to a request for information about the size of the outage — whether it’s only affecting South Florida or is part of a national problem followed up to report that the outage appears to be “regional.”
BocaNewsNow.com tipsters reporting in from several area Walmarts say the problem first started between noon and 1 p.m., and immediately led to frustrated customers and extremely long lines. Customers apparently didn’t immediately leave the stores as they were told that the systems would be back up shortly.
