PALM BEACH COUNTY, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2025 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — Palm Beach County Monday announced that a major intersection will close for more than a week. This is what PBC shared with BocaNewsNow.com:
>> Starting at 8 p.m. on Friday, August 1, the intersection of Northlake Boulevard and Beeline Highway will be closed continuously through Sunday, August 10. The closure is necessary to allow CSX to perform railroad track replacement and signalization improvements.
During the closure, traffic will be detoured via Seminole Pratt Whitney Road, Southern Boulevard, Military Trail, and Northlake Boulevard. Additional alternate routes include Coconut Boulevard, Orange Boulevard, Royal Palm Beach Boulevard, 60th Street, State Road 7, and Okeechobee Boulevard. Detour signage will be posted along these routes, and law enforcement officers will be on-site to assist with traffic flow. Traffic signals along the primary detour routes will be temporarily re-timed and continuously monitored to accommodate the increased traffic volume during the closure period.
Emergency and first responder vehicles will have uninterrupted access to the closed intersection and surrounding areas throughout the duration of the work.
Motorists are strongly advised to plan ahead, allow extra travel time, and ensure their vehicles are fueled before traveling through the affected area of the county. Individuals and employers are invited to consider adjusting work schedules, if possible, to help ease traffic congestion during the closure.
To help residents and those impacted by the project make the most of the closure, Discover the Palm Beaches will be featuring over 40 exclusive staycation deals for Palm Beach County residents. Explore these offers at https://www.thepalmbeaches.com/lovepbc.
During the closure, Palm Tran fixed-route buses may experience delays, but no detours are expected. Paratransit services will be subject to temporary detours, which may affect travel times to medical appointments and other destinations. Reservationists are actively informing paratransit riders of any expected delays or detours. Riders are encouraged to check Palm Tran’s https://www.palmtran.org/ or contact customer service for the latest information to help plan their trips accordingly. <<
