Alexander Acevedo, 28, of 225 Brighton F, was riding in West Boca when another car “drifted” into his path according to the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office.

Investigative information provided to BocaNewsNow.com reveals that, “a Chevrolet Trax driven by John Adams of Deerfield Beach was traveling westbound on Sandalfoot Boulevard, approaching the intersection of North Branch Road. The electric scooter, operated by Alex Acevedo, was traveling eastbound on Sandalfoot Boulevard, approaching the 10520 block.

As the Trax approached the 10520 block, it drifted in a southwesterly direction, over the center continuous left turn land, and partially into the eastbound lane, directly into the path of travel of the e-scooter.

During the ensuing collision, the front passenger side corner and quarter panel of the Trax impacted the front of the scooter and Acevedo. As a result of the collision, the e-scooter and Acevedo were violently thrown to the ground.”

Acevedo was pronounced dead at the scene around 11:10 p.m. Wednesday. The investigation continues.
