>> Palm Beach County’s Planning, Zoning and Building Department (PZB) is pleased to announce the appointment of Melvin Corredor, Master of Business Administration (MBA), as the county’s new building official, effective August 18, 2025.
Corredor brings more than 20 years of combined public and private sector experience, with a strong background in construction management, permitting, inspections and building code compliance.
Prior to joining PZB, he was the building department manager at the Village of Wellington. He led process improvements, technology upgrades and customer service enhancements, improving the delivery of building services. His career also includes private construction industry experience in project management and supervisory roles.
A certified general and roofing contractor, Corredor holds more than 11 professional licenses from the State of Florida. He also holds the Master Code Professional certification, the highest designation awarded by the International Code Council.
Additionally, the Building Officials Association of Florida awarded Mr. Corredor the “2021 Plans Examiner of the Year” award, reflecting his technical expertise, leadership, and unwavering commitment to public safety.

Corredor is a graduate of the University of Florida, where he earned a Bachelor of Business Administration and an MBA.
