BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2025 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — The National Hurricane Center Saturday night added another tropical disturbance to the map. This one is southeast of Florida. It’s too soon for concern, but it is one to watch. Here’s the update:
>> Active Systems: The National Hurricane Center is issuing advisories on Hurricane Erin, located about 100 miles north of the Virgin Islands.
Northwestern Atlantic: The area of low pressure located a couple hundred miles off the coast of North Carolina has not become any better organized over the past 24 hours, with limited disorganized shower and thunderstorm activity displaced well to the east of the center. Some slight development of this system is still possible over the next day or so while it moves little over the warm waters of the Gulf Stream. By Monday, environmental conditions are expected to become unfavorable for further development.

- Formation chance through 48 hours…low…near 0 percent.
- Formation chance through 7 days…low…20 percent.
