Fifty Years For Glades Road Branch. Quite A History…

BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2025 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — The Glades Road Branch Of the Palm Beach County Library is turning 50, and the public is invited to celebrate five decades of community service at a special anniversary event on Wednesday, Sept. 10.
The Palm Beach County Library System is hosting the celebration from 2-4 p.m. at the Glades Road location. The event will feature guest speakers, activities and crafts for all ages, and complimentary refreshments.
The library’s history in the area dates back to 1975 when it first opened as the Southwest County Library in the Sandalfoot Cove shopping center. It later moved to a new location in 1981 at Picadilly Square before finding its permanent home on Glades Road in 1991. What started as a small storefront has since grown into a bustling community hub.
The library invites everyone to come and honor its past while looking forward to its future. The event is open to the public and will be held at the Glades Road Branch Library, 20701 95th Ave. S, Boca Raton.
