UPDATE at 4:38 p.m: The Broward Sheriff’s Office provided the following statement to BocaNewsNow.com: During a proactive law enforcement investigation, Broward Sheriff’s Office Pompano Beach district deputies attempted to make a traffic stop. The driver of the vehicle failed to yield. The subject continued to drive through several jurisdictions. BSO Aviation kept surveillance of the vehicle. Investigators say the subject abandoned the vehicle in Boca Raton. Detectives advised the subject then burglarized another vehicle. Investigators took the subject into custody and charges are pending. The investigation continues

UPDATE at 3:31 p.m: One suspect is now in custody. Police remain on the scene on Forsyth between Federal and Dixie.

UPDATE at 3:26 p.m: This was a Broward Sheriff’s Office operation that involved a suspect fleeing into Boca Raton. We are awaiting an update from BSO. There is NO THREAT to the public, according to law enforcement sources.
