TORRENTIAL RAINS. IMPASSABLE ROADS. FREAK SUMMER STORM.

BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2025 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — Torrential rains pummeled parts of Delray Beach, Boca Raton, Boynton Beach, and much of south Palm Beach County Monday afternoon. Fire Rescue crews dealt with non-stop calls as roads suddenly became impassable and power flickered throughout the region. Despite numerous calls for service, we are unaware of serious injuries related to the storm as of 5:45 p.m. A flood watch remains in effect, according to the National Weather Service:

- WHAT… Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues.
- WHERE… A portion of southeast Florida, including the following counties, Broward and Palm Beach.
- WHEN… Until 645 PM EDT.
- IMPACTS… Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
- ADDITIONAL DETAILS…
- At 533 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain have fallen.
- Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 3 inches are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding.

It was pouring here in North Coral Springs around the entrance to the Sawgrass Expressway for a few hours with windy conditions. We even a tiny flood in the back yard between our house & the neighbors. So glad I didn’t have to go out this afternoon as it looked to be a bit dangerous.
