Henderson University School (ADHUS) and FAU High School have been recognized as among the top schools in both the state and the nation, according to the 2026 rankings recently released by Niche. The FAU Lab Schools campus was distinguished as the No. 2 “Best Public K-12 School” in the United States out of 1,847 schools reviewed. This ranking also places the Boca Raton-based institution as the second-best in Florida.
On the national stage, the schools saw significant gains across all levels. ADHUS climbed one spot to become the No. 3 “Best Public Elementary School” and moved up two positions to No. 5 for “Best Public Middle School.” FAU High School made a considerable leap, ascending 16 spots to be named the No. 23 “Best Public High School” in the country. Furthermore, it was ranked No. 17 nationally for “Best College Prep Public High School,” an improvement of three places from the previous year.
Within Florida, the schools also earned top accolades. ADHUS holds the No. 3 spot for both “Best Public Elementary School” and “Best Public Middle School.” FAU High School improved its standing to No. 3 for both “Best Public High School” and “Best College Prep Public High School” in the state. Locally, the elementary, middle, and high schools swept the top honors, each being ranked No. 1 in their respective categories for Palm Beach County.
Dr. Lauren Robinson, principal of both schools, called the achievement an “extraordinary honor.” She stated, “This recognition celebrates the innovation, imagination and collective effort of our students, families, teachers and staff who transform learning from a traditional theater experience into an immersive, application-based journey.” Robinson emphasized the school’s unique environment, which is fully integrated with Florida Atlantic University, allowing education to be applied directly to life.
The rankings are compiled by Niche, the largest website for researching K-12 schools, through a rigorous analysis of statistics from the U.S. Department of Education combined with millions of user reviews. A.D. Henderson University School received an overall A+ grade from the site, with A+ marks also awarded for its academics, teachers, administration, and college preparatory programs, cementing its status as a leading educational institution.
