BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2025 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — A woman is suing a local bakery for more than $50,000, claiming she was seriously injured after tripping over bread crates left on a kitchen floor. Tammi Blauberg filed the negligence lawsuit Thursday against Cusano’s Italian Bakery Inc. in Palm Beach County Circuit Court.

The alleged incident happened on Nov. 4, 2022, while Blauberg was working at the Royal Palm Yacht & Country Club. According to the complaint, she was in the kitchen preparing ice cream trays and was walking to a freezer when she tripped and fell over the bakery’s crates.

The lawsuit accuses the bakery of creating a dangerous condition by leaving the crates in a walkway. It claims Cusano’s employees were negligent by not properly storing the crates, failing to inspect the area, and failing to warn people about the potential hazard. The suit also alleges the company didn’t properly train its delivery staff on safety protocols.

As a result of the fall, Blauberg says she suffered serious and permanent injuries. The complaint states she has dealt with pain, disfigurement, and mental suffering. She is seeking money to cover medical expenses and lost income, as well as for the loss of her capacity for the enjoyment of life.

Blauberg is represented by the Hallandale Beach-based Fenstersheib Law Group. The baker has not filed a response to the suit that has been processed by the Palm Beach County Clerk of Courts as of mid-day Saturday, October 11, 2025. Cusano’s Baking Company has its principal address in Coconut Creek.
