BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2025 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — A West Boca Raton child was rushed to two area medical centers Sunday afternoon after the child apparently got a bead stuck in his or her ear. We are not identifying the child.
Sources tell BocaNewsNow.com that the child was initially rushed to a non hospital medical center after the parents realized that the bead was in their child’s ear canal. The medical center was unable to remove the bead, so called 9-1-1. That’s when Palm Beach County Fire Rescue rushed the child to West Boca Medical Center.
There is a pediatric unit at West Boca Medical Center which, presumably, has trained medical professionals proficient in bead removal. However, we do not know as of late Sunday afternoon if the bead was removed, how the bead was removed, or how exactly the parents didn’t notice that a bead was being paced in the child’s ear to start with.
We are told the child is under age 5. We do not know the type of bead, color of bead, or whether it was the right or left ear. We’ll update this report if we learn more.
