BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2025 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — Bagel Boss at 22107 Powerline Road in Boca Raton was ordered closed on October 22nd by a health inspector reporting to the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation. The inspector recorded three “high priority” and nine “basic” violations.

Per BocaNewsNow.com policy, the following is the unedited list of violations recorded with the state. We do not alter these listings:

High Priority – Live, small flying insects found. Observed 5 small flying insects on mop sink equipment. Observed approximately 10 small flying insects landing on dry storage area racks and items. Observed approximately 15 small flying landing on bagels and bagel storage racks at back kitchen area. Operator discarded contaminated bagels. See stop sale. **Warning**

High Priority – Stop Sale issued due to food not being in a wholesome, sound condition. Approximately 15 small flying insects landing on bagels stored in back kitchen area. Operator discarded. **Warning**

High Priority – Time/temperature control for safety food cold held at greater than 41 degrees Fahrenheit. liquid egg whites (67F – Cold Holding) not held on time as a public health control held at room temperature for approximately 1 hour at kitchen prep area per operator. Operator voluntarily discarded. **Corrected On-Site** **Warning**

Basic – Accumulation of black/green mold-like substance in the interior of the ice machine/bin. **Warning**

Basic – Ceiling tile missing in kitchen prep area. **Warning**

Basic – Ceiling/ceiling tiles/vents soiled with accumulated food debris, grease, dust, or mold-like substance. Ceiling vent and surrounding ceiling space above back prep table soiled with dust. **Warning**

Basic – Current Hotel and Restaurant license not displayed. Operator provided expired temporary license issued during licensing. **Warning**

Basic – Employee personal items stored in or above a food preparation area, food, clean equipment and utensils, or single-service items. Employee cellphone stored on kitchen prep table. **Warning**

Basic – Floor area(s) covered with standing water underneath triple sink. **Warning**

Basic – Floor soiled/has accumulation of debris in walk in cooler and underneath kitchen prep tables. **Warning**

Basic – Food stored on floor. Plastic bottled beverages stored on floor of back prep area. **Warning**

Basic – Unwashed fruits/vegetables stored with ready-to-eat food. Unwashed oranges stored over packages of ready to eat bread in walk in cooler. **Warning**

Bagel Boss was reinspected the same day and permitted to reopen later on October 22nd. Records show the restaurant received its first license on June 13th.
