Delray Beach Suspect Held On More Than $50,000 Bond.

BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2025 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — A Delray Beach handyman is facing multiple felony charges after police say he stole over $12,000 from a client who hired him for IT work. Robert Andrew Geller, 49, was charged with grand theft of more than $10,000, fraudulent use of a credit card, and fraudulent use of personal identification information. The charges stem from a Boca Raton Police investigation that began in March 2025 after a Boca Raton man discovered dozens of unauthorized transactions on his bank and credit card accounts.
According to the arrest report obtained by BocaNewsNow.com, the victim first hired Geller from the “Next Door” app in December 2024 to fix a television. The victim later hired Geller for IT and miscellaneous work at his Boca Raton business office. Police said Geller was given access to the victim’s office computer, which contained a word document with login information and passwords for the man’s financial accounts.
Investigators allege Geller used this information to systematically drain funds from the victim’s TD Bank, Goldman Sachs, and Citibank accounts. The affidavit details numerous unauthorized transfers to Geller’s own accounts via Zelle, Apple Cash, and Cash App. Geller also allegedly used the victim’s credit cards for personal shopping, including purchases at Best Buy and an Apple online store, and had an Amazon order for a computer part shipped directly to his own Delray Beach address. Police also say Geller added his personal phone line to the victim’s Xfinity Mobile account, causing the man’s bill to increase significantly.
When the victim confronted Geller about the discrepancies in a March 7 message, Geller allegedly confessed. “By now, the depth of what happened has been fully realized,” Geller reportedly wrote. “I’ve been in a tailspin trying to find the courage and the right words for this, but I know I owe it you to be honest and open. What has come to light I deeply regret and largely don’t understand… yet I need to take full responsibility for it.”
In the message, Geller went on to blame his actions on medication and his mother’s illness, according to the report. “I want you to know how deeply sorry I am, and that I’m committed to making this right,” Geller allegedly wrote, offering to work as the victim’s Airbnb manager and have his commissions withheld until the stolen $12,735.39 was repaid.
Geller remains held in the Palm Beach County Jail on more than $50,000 bond.
