South Floridians Needing Food Help During Government Crisis Have New Place To Turn.

PALM BEACH COUNTY, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2025 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — Boys Town South Florida has announced the opening of its first-ever Giving Pantry, a new resource aimed at providing immediate relief to local families facing severe hardship. The pantry will supply essential items like food, clothing, hygiene kits, and baby supplies to at-risk children and families, offering a helping hand before tackling deeper challenges.
The organization, which serves over 3,000 families annually across Palm Beach, Martin, and Broward counties, highlighted the kinds of crises local families are facing. They shared examples of a 16-year-old grieving the loss of her sister to a drunk driver, a father caring for his wife with early-onset Alzheimer’s, and a single mother working two jobs while struggling with defiant children. These families, Boys Town emphasizes, are neighbors and community members.
The Giving Pantry is designed to be a simple but powerful first response. Organizers say that by meeting a family’s immediate basic needs, they can offer compassion in action and establish a foundation for addressing more complex issues. The goal is to provide stability for those in a moment of crisis.
“A small act of kindness speaks volumes and can mean everything for those moments when families are at their lowest,” said Daniela Mesquita, Boys Town South Florida Sr. Development Director. “Our Giving Pantry allows us to bring comfort, dignity, and hope to the families we serve every day.”
Community members can support the pantry by donating brand-new items year-round. The organization is requesting canned goods, pasta, personal hygiene kits, diapers, formula, new clothing, and gift cards for gas and groceries. Donations can be dropped off on weekdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at their office located at 1655 Palm Beach Lakes Blvd., Suite 300, in West Palm Beach.
