DELRAY BEACH, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2025 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — A Delray Beach man is facing multiple felony charges after allegedly threatening employees at a Walgreens with a large knife and stealing cigarettes on October 24th. Sean Soraghan, 40, was tased and arrested after refusing to comply with police commands during a tense confrontation at the store on 3200 S Federal Highway.

Delray Beach Police responded to the store at approximately 8:04 a.m. regarding a man threatening employees with a knife behind the counter. Arriving officers found Soraghan, who appeared agitated and had a large knife protruding from his pants pocket. According to the arrest report, Soraghan refused commands to remove the knife and repeatedly told officers to “pull the real guns out” and “shoot him.”

While one officer engaged Soraghan in conversation to de-escalate the situation, another officer approached from behind and secured him in a bear hug. Police said Soraghan began to resist by tensing his body, at which point an officer deployed a Taser to safely take him into custody. An employee told investigators Soraghan had walked directly behind the counter, advanced on a cashier while displaying the knife, and caused the employee to flee in fear for his life.

During the incident, Soraghan also allegedly stole a pack of Newport cigarettes, which officers reported finding in his pocket after the arrest. Store surveillance footage reportedly confirmed the employee’s account. Soraghan was charged with strong-armed robbery, two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, and resisting an officer without violence. He was transported to the Palm Beach County Jail.
