Security Guard Tries To Reboot Customer. Delray’s Scott Wolff Powered Down In PBC Jail.

DELRAY BEACH, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2025 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — A Delray Beach man was arrested on a felony charge on October 27th after allegedly shoving a security guard at the Apple Store in Boca Raton’s Town Center mall. Scott Daniel Wolff, 61, was charged with battery on a licensed security officer after the confrontation, which police said began when Wolff became aggressive with store employees.
Boca Raton Police responded to the store in Boca Raton Town Center Mall (NYSE:SPG) at approximately 6:21 p.m. regarding a battery. According to the arrest report, a store manager stated Wolff entered the store and was “aggressive toward all employees, making aggressive statements and calling them names”. An employee also told police Wolff threatened him, saying, “I’ll slit your throat,” though the employee said he was not in fear that Wolff would carry it out.
A store security guard, who was wearing a shirt with “security” visibly written on it, told police he stepped in when Wolff began yelling. At management’s request, the guard asked Wolff to leave. The report states Wolff then got in the guard’s face and, after being escorted out, “placed both hands on him, and shoved him before proceeding to walk away”. This was reportedly corroborated by store surveillance video, which also showed Wolff “repeatedly getting in [the guard’s] face in a lunging manner, with his fists balled as if preparing to fight”.

Police located Wolff, who agreed to speak after being read his rights. According to the report, Wolff said he “was not aggressive and did not put his hands on anyone,” stating he was upset because he had “spent $850 in the store and felt that the employees were ignoring him and taking too long”. Wolff later admitted he knew the man he argued with was a security guard. He was arrested and transported to the Palm Beach County Jail.
