Palm Beach County is offering funds to some residents in need of home repairs.

BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2025 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — Palm Beach County has announced a new $2.3 million fund to help homeowners repair their properties. The money, part of the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA-RF), is for the Owner-Occupied Housing Rehabilitation Program. Eligible homeowners can receive up to $100,000 for substantial rehabilitation to correct existing code violations or fix items that could soon become violations.

To be eligible, homeowners must live in an unincorporated area of Palm Beach County, which generally includes properties with a Parcel Control Number beginning with “00.” The home’s appraised value cannot be more than $434,000. Officials also caution that if a property has “unpermitted work,” it may be ineligible to receive assistance through this program.

Assistance is targeted at moderate-income households. Eligibility is based on the total household income and the number of people living in the home. The income limit for a one-person household is $98,280. For a two-person household, the limit is $112,320; for three people, it is $126,240; and for a four-person household, the maximum income is $140,280.

This is not a first-come, first-served program. The county will use a random lottery selection process to choose 30 applications. The online pre-application portal will open on Monday, December 1, 2025, at 12:00 p.m. and will close on Friday, December 19, 2025, at 11:59 p.m. Interested residents can visit https://pbcgov.com/HED to complete the pre-application and find more program details.

Applicants are strongly encouraged to attend one of the virtual pre-application orientations scheduled for this month. The sessions will be held via WebEx on Thursday, November 13 (2-3:30 p.m.), Tuesday, November 18 (4-5:30 p.m.), Thursday, November 20 (Noon-1:30 p.m.), and Tuesday, November 25 (10-11:30 a.m.).
