PALM BEACH COUNTY, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2025 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — Palm Beach County Fire Rescue professionals rescued a man calling 911 from an overturned and sinking truck early this morning. The man was pulled to safety and rushed to Palms West Hospital.

BocaNewsNow.com has learned that Palm Beach County emergency dispatchers received the call for help around 4:40 Sunday morning. A man told dispatchers he was in the overturned truck and sinking — but couldn’t provide an exact location. The Palm Beach County emergency communications center geo-located the man to the 1400 block of “A Road” in Loxahatchee Groves — near Wellington. First responders — on the scene just minutes later — saw lights in the water and immediately started a rescue operation.

A Palm Beach County Fire Rescue swimmer swam to the truck and determined the man was breathing in an air bubble in the upside down vehicle. Rescuers then began to stabilize the truck and extricate the man — an effort that only took minutes. As the man was removed, a Palm Beach County Fire Rescue professional diver entered the water to make sure no one had been ejected from the truck. They confirmed within minutes that no one else was involved.

There was no immediate information about how the truck ended up in the water. This section of “A Road” runs between Southern Boulevard and Okeechobee Boulevard. We have learned the man is in good condition.
