The City of Boca Raton tree lighting is tonight, Saturday, November 22, 2025.

BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2025 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — Motorists and downtown visitors should prepare for significant road closures and detours tonight as the City of Boca Raton officially kicks off the holiday season. The annual “Holiday Tree Lighting” celebration is set to take over the Mizner Park Amphitheater from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. City of Boca Raton officials are urging drivers to plan now if they expect to go to the event — or be anywhere near the event.

Roads near and within Mizner Park will be shut down early. Plaza Real East and West will be closed to all vehicular traffic starting promptly at 5 p.m. These closures will effectively cut off through-traffic in the center of the plaza, requiring visitors to use perimeter parking garages and surface lots. Drivers should expect increased volume on Federal Highway and Palmetto Park Road as attendees navigate toward available parking.

The celebration begins at 6 p.m. with live music performances, snow flurries, roaming holiday characters, and a holiday market featuring crafts and food vendors. A major highlight for families will be the selfie photo opportunities with Santa, taking place from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. near the Boca Raton Art Museum. For those looking to relax, chairs will be available for rent on-site, as outside chairs are prohibited.

The evening’s main event, the Ceremonial Tree Lighting, is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Mayor Scott Singer will lead the countdown, illuminating the City’s tree. Mizner Park’s own tree will also light up. Mizner Park itself has been transformed into a “holiday wonderland,” featuring 50,000 LED lights wrapping 75 palm trees and various festive 2D light displays designed for photo opportunities. Following the lighting, the stage will host “A Very Diva Christmas” with sets running from 8:00 p.m. until nearly 10 p.m.

Attendees are reminded that security measures will be in place. Food and drinks are available for purchase. Guests are only permitted to bring one unopened bottle of water per person.
