BOYNTON BEACH, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2025 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — A Boynton Beach man is facing a felony robbery charge after a delivery of alcohol allegedly turned into a physical confrontation. Matthew Joseph Delisa III, 48, was arrested at his home on Stratton Lane following an investigation into a reported robbery in progress. According to police records obtained by BocaNewsNow.com, the incident began when a delivery driver arrived at the residence to drop off an order.

The situation escalated quickly when the driver asked to scan Delisa’s driver’s license to complete the age-verification process required by the delivery app. Instead of providing identification, Delisa allegedly forcibly grabbed the alcoholic beverages from the driver’s hands. During the encounter, the driver’s red iPhone was also taken from his possession before Delisa retreated into his garage with the items.

Responding officers from the Boynton Beach Police Department discovered a red iPhone sitting in the driveway of the home. When questioned by police, Delisa reportedly admitted to ordering the alcohol but claimed the transaction was completed without any issues. He denied knowing anything about the phone found on his property or how it ended up in his driveway.

However, investigators say surveillance footage from a neighbor’s house told a different story. According to the probable cause affidavit, video showed the delivery driver leaving the scene, followed shortly by Delisa exiting his front door and dropping a red iPhone onto the pavement. Delisa was taken into custody and charged with one count of Robbery by Sudden Snatching without a firearm or weapon. He was released on December 13th on $3,000 bond. A court date is pending.
