LANTANA, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2026 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — The year may have changed but the apparent stupidity of people near Brightline train tracks in South Florida has not — at least if the first hours of 2026 are any indication.
BocaNewsNow.com has learned that a man believed to be in his 40s was critically injured around noon today when his head came into contact with a Brightline train in the area of of Hypoluxo and South Dixie Highway. It was not immediately clear whether his head — or the train — was there first.
What is clear is that the man was rushed to Delray Medical Center in critical condition. His condition late Thursday afternoon is unclear. We have learned the man sustained critical head lacerations and other injuries. Delray Medical Center is the region’s trauma center.
We encourage you to stay away from passing, approaching, or even dormant trains in South Florida if you are not actively boarding or disembarking.
