Lori Grossman Followed By Police On State Road 7. Allegedly Wouldn’t Stop.

BOYNTON BEACH, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2025 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — A Delray Beach woman was arrested early Christmas morning after she was allegedly caught driving a shredded tire down to its metal rim on State Road 7. Lori Ann Grossman, 63, was taken into custody by the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office just north of Boynton Beach Boulevard. Investigators say the incident began when a 911 caller reported a grey Hyundai SUV swerving dangerously and nearly striking curbs while traveling without a front tire.
According to the arrest report reviewed by BocaNewsNow.com, a PBSO Sergeant spotted the vehicle and attempted a traffic stop, but Grossman reportedly failed to pull over immediately, continuing northbound at approximately 35 miles per hour through a red light before finally stopping. When the deputy made contact, he noted that Grossman’s speech was heavily slurred and that she appeared to be driving on the front passenger rim. Grossman allegedly told the officer she was heading home to Delray Beach from Boca Raton and admitted she knew there was an “issue” with her tire but thought she could make it back.
A DUI investigator arrived on the scene and noted that Grossman had red, glassy eyes and smelled of an unknown alcoholic beverage. While she initially agreed to perform roadside sobriety exercises, she eventually became hesitant, telling deputies she was “unable to make the right decision right now” after being warned of the consequences of refusing the tasks. During the Horizontal Gaze Nystagmus test, investigators observed several signs of impairment, including a lack of smooth pursuit in both eyes.

Grossman was transported to the Palm Beach County Jail, where she ultimately agreed to a breath test. The results showed breath alcohol levels of.188 and.196, more than double the Florida legal limit of.08. She was charged with Driving Under the Influence and was booked into the facility at 1:43 a.m.. Records indicate she was later released on her own recognizance and is scheduled for a court appearance on January 22, 2026.
