Senior Says He Boards Early Because He’s A Senior. The Agent’s Reply Is Awesome…

PALM BEACH COUNTY, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2025 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — American Airlines, the unofficial airline of BocaNewsNow.com, put a senior citizen in his place Wednesday morning at Palm Beach International Airport. And by putting him in his place, we don’t mean adjusting a wheelchair in a waiting area.
The senior citizen — carrying, shockingly, a dog — decided that he wanted to get on the flight to Charlotte first. He cut in front of the wheelchairs. He cut in front of people with canes. He cut in front of first class passengers. With a ticket declaring his “group 5” boarding position, he told the agent: “I’m allowed to board early because I’m a senior citizen!”
The gate agent, without missing a beat, took a breath and then said: “Sir, 70 percent of the passengers out of PBI are senior citizens. Group 5 hasn’t been called yet.”
Let that sink in. This agent, who really should be declared the best American Airlines employee of all time, said the quiet part out loud. She told the guy that he wasn’t special simply because he’s old. The man then sat down in his seat, holding the dog, and called someone to whom he screamed about the “Bullsh-t” he was experiencing because he wasn’t allowed to get on the plane when he wanted to get on the plane.
While we don’t know if American Airlines will next work on its Jesus flight problem — the flights where people board with wheelchairs only to suddenly be able to walk when the plane lands — we are thrilled that at least one person was told what people really think of liars and cheaters. And we love that it was done by a gate agent with a smile on her face.
American is clearly starting its next 100 years with the attitude — and rules — that frequent fliers appreciate.
