BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2026 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — It’s not you and you’re not alone. The major cell phone carriers in the United States continue to deal with massive outages and interruptions across the country and here in South Florida.
The problems started early Wednesday afternoon. The cause is unknown at this point but we are receiving reports from customers of all services in South Florida, saying they are affected. There is no ETA as to when service will be restored.
DownDetector.com, which tracks service outages across the country, is reporting that things are starting to look a little bit better as of 5:05 p.m. While the outage reports are still huge, they appear to be heading in the downward direction.
Remember: most cell phones can be put into airplane mode to activate WiFi calling. Simply put: if you’re home ore in a place where there is regular internet access, you should be able to make and receive calls if you turn on “WiFi calling.”
