PALM BEACH COUNTY, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2026 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — A plane made an emergency landing in Lake Okeechobee around 5 p.m. Saturday. BocaNewsNow.com has learned that multiple callers calling 911 thought the plane had crashed and feared casualties.
First responders arriving on the scene, however, quickly learned that there were no injures and that the plane didn’t actually crash but made a controlled landing offshore from Pahokee. At least two people were on board.
The plane is identified as an Icon Fixed Single Wing plane which is a small plane. It is registered to a person in Miami. We are not listing the name or the tail number.
It was not immediately clear from where the plane took off or where it was heading at the time of the water landing. Check back for updates.
