The outlook for traffic this week in Boca Raton, Delray Beach, Boynton Beach, Wellington, and Lake Worth is bad.

BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2026 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — The new year is very much underway as road and construction projections are in full swing — making travel across the region challenging and at times, extremely annoying. With thanks to FDOT and Palm Beach County, here is the list of items that will likely cause you frustration over the next week:


I-95 & FLORIDA’S TURNPIKE

  • I-95 at Boynton Beach Boulevard (S.R. 804) Interchange: 2.354-mile project including bridge widening to dual left turn lanes, additional ramp lanes, third through-lane on westbound Boynton Beach Blvd, milling/repaving, 5-7 foot bicycle lanes, and new traffic monitoring cameras.
  • Traffic Impact: One lane closed in each direction nightly (9 p.m. – 6 a.m.), Mon–Thu.
  • I-95 Mainline: Up to three lanes closed nightly (10 p.m. – 6 a.m.) between Tuesday and Thursday.
  • Ramp Impact: Southbound exit ramp has no free-flowing right turn; all traffic must stop on red.
  • Full Nightly Closures: Entrance/exit ramps closed nightly (9 p.m. – 6 a.m.) on a rotating basis with detours via Woolbright Rd or Gateway Blvd.
  • I-95 Ramp Safety Improvement Project (Various Interchanges):
  • Okeechobee Blvd: Northbound on-ramp closed Jan 20 (8 p.m. – 6 a.m.).
  • PGA Blvd: Northbound off-ramp to westbound PGA closed Jan 21 (8 p.m. – 6 a.m.).
  • Indiantown Rd: Northbound off-ramp to westbound Indiantown Rd closed Jan 22; Southbound off-ramp to eastbound closed Jan 25.
  • Turnpike (Belvedere Rd): East and west bound lane closures between Skees Rd and N. Cleary Rd.
  • Turnpike (Hypoluxo Rd): Bridge replacement; reduced to a single lane for east and west bound traffic.
  • Turnpike (Lantana Rd): Periodic east and west bound lane closures.

    LONG-TERM & MAJOR ROAD CLOSURES
  • SW 66th Avenue (District 5): Road closed south of Sandalfoot Boulevard for gravity main installation. Detour via Sandalfoot Blvd, US 441, SW 18th St, and SW 65th Ave.
  • Hatton Highway (District 6): Road closed from New Vandergrift Rd to 5,350 feet south of Conners Highway until approx. February 2, 2026. Detour via SR 80/US 98/US 441.
  • SW 13th Place (District 5): Northbound road closed at Sandalfoot Blvd until late January 2026. Detour via SW 65th Ave.
  • Caroline Drive (District 2): Periodic north and south bound closure with detour for FPL work.
    BOCA RATON / SOUTHERN COUNTY (DISTRICTS 4 & 5)
  • U.S. 441/S.R. 7 (Glades Rd to Bridgebrook Dr): Intermittent daytime outside lane closures (9 a.m. – 4 p.m.) and nightly lane/turn lane closures (8 p.m. – 6 a.m.) for striping and lighting.
  • SW 18th Street: Southbound right lane closure at Boca Rio Road for turn lane installation; periodic east/west closures from Palm D’Oro Rd to Camino Del Mar.
  • S.R. A1A/S Ocean Boulevard (Delray Beach): One lane closed in each direction (7 a.m. – 6 p.m.), Mon–Fri, for striping and signalization.
  • S.R. A1A (Highland Beach/Delray): One lane closed intermittently (7 a.m. – 6 p.m.) for swale regrading and sodding.
  • Palmetto Park Road: Periodic westbound right lane closure from Military Trail to I-95 off-ramp; periodic daytime single lane closures between Keystone St and Aquila St.
  • S. Dixie Highway: Periodic northbound right lane closure south of SW 8th Street.
  • Yamato Road: Periodic eastbound right lane closure at Boca West Drive.
  • Clint Moore Road: Periodic westbound right lane closure at SR 7; periodic eastbound right lane closures east of SR 7.
  • Lyons Road: Periodic southbound right lane closures at Boca Lago Blvd and La Fontana Blvd.
  • S. Seacrest Boulevard: Periodic north/south bound closures with flaggers south of SE 31st Ave and at SE 28th Ave.
  • Powerline Road: Periodic north/south bound lane closures south of Campo Allegro Drive and at Town Harbour Blvd.
  • Camino Real: Periodic eastbound right lane closure at Camino Del Mar.
  • Kimberly Boulevard: Periodic westbound right lane closure west of Lyons Road.
  • Morikami Park Road: Periodic westbound lane closure and traffic shift west of Jog Road.

    BOYNTON BEACH / DELRAY BEACH / CENTRAL COUNTY (DISTRICTS 2 & 3)
  • Atlantic Avenue (S.R. 806) Reconstruction: Road widening from 2 to 6 lanes.
  • Nightly lane closures (8:30 p.m. – 6 a.m.) between US 441 and Lyons Rd.
  • Daytime lane closures (7 a.m. – 5 p.m.) between Lyons Rd and the Turnpike.
  • Intersection improvements at Atlantic Ave and Homewood Blvd: Intermittent lane closures (7 a.m. – 5 p.m.).
  • Boynton Beach Boulevard (S.R. 804) Resurfacing: Project from Orchid Grove Trail to Palm Isles Drive begins Jan 19, 2026.
  • Lantana Road: Periodic lane closures at Military Trail and from Lyons Rd to Jog Rd.
  • S. Military Trail:
  • At Gateway Blvd: Periodic nighttime lane closures (Eastbound/Westbound/Northbound/Southbound).
  • South of Melaleuca Lane: Periodic northbound lane closures and southbound left turn lane closures.
  • At Hypoluxo Rd: Nightly northbound right/center lane closures.
  • North of Woolbright Rd: Nightly northbound right lane closure (District 4).
  • Haverhill Road:
  • South of Bee Line Highway: Periodic north/south traffic shift with police.
  • Cannon Way to Grant Lane: Southbound right lane closure beginning Dec 1, 2025.
  • 10th Avenue North:
  • Palm Springs: Periodic westbound right lane closure from Park Dr to Florida Mango Rd.
  • Greenacres: Periodic east and west bound lane closures from S. 57th Ave to Fleming Ave.
  • Hagen Ranch Road: Periodic north and south bound lane closures from Smith Farms Blvd to Lantana Rd for road widening.
  • Summit Boulevard: Periodic eastbound right lane closures near Military Trail and Scott Drive.
  • Sherwood Forest Boulevard: Periodic southbound traffic shift south of Purdy Lane.
  • Crestwood Boulevard: Periodic eastbound right lane closures from Sky Pine Way to Sherwood Forest Blvd.
  • 10th Avenue (Village of Palm Springs): Periodic eastbound right lane closure west of Military Trail.
  • S. Florida Mango Road: Periodic southbound traffic shift from Meadow Court to Foresthill Blvd; periodic north/south traffic shifts near Ranch House Road.

    WEST PALM BEACH, JUPITER & NORTHERN COUNTY (DISTRICTS 1, 2 & 7)
  • U.S. 1/Earman River Bridge Replacement: Northbound traffic shifted to the southbound bridge; Earman River channel closed to mariners through Spring 2027.
  • S.R. 710/Beeline Highway: Widening from 4 to 6 lanes. One inside lane closed in each direction daily (7 a.m. – 6 p.m.) from Northlake Blvd to Blue Heron Blvd.
  • Beeline northwest ramp to eastbound Northlake Blvd closed until Spring 2026.
  • Northlake Boulevard:
  • At Congress Avenue: South approach closed until Wednesday, Jan 21.
  • East/West of Beeline Hwy: Periodic east/west lane closures (10:30 a.m. – 6 p.m.).
  • At Seminole Pratt Whitney Rd: Westbound lanes on Northlake and northbound right turn lane on Seminole Pratt have free-flow; other lanes are STOP conditions.
  • Prosperity Farms Rd to Northlake Dr: Periodic westbound right lane closure.
  • Central Boulevard (Jupiter): Nightly closures (10 p.m. – 5 a.m.) starting Jan 22 between Riverwalk Lane and Church Street.
  • S. Australian Avenue: Periodic lane closures from I-95 to Okeechobee Blvd; periodic north/south right lane closures from W. 1st St to W. 4th St.
  • N. Haverhill Road: Periodic day and nighttime lane closures from Ceciele Avenue to North of Century Boulevard.
  • S.R. 811/Alt A1A (Palm Beach Gardens/Jupiter): One lane and sidewalk closure intermittently (9 a.m. – 4 p.m.) for signalization and concrete work.
  • Center Street (Jupiter): Periodic westbound traffic shift and southbound right turn lane at Loxahatchee River Rd.
  • Prosperity Farms Road: Periodic north/south traffic shifts from Northlake Blvd to Honey Road.
  • Donald Ross Road: Periodic eastbound right lane closure near US Highway 1; periodic westbound right turn lane closure east of Sea Oats Drive.
  • Indiantown Road: Periodic eastbound left turn lane closure at Central Boulevard.

    WESTERN REGIONS & DISTRICT 6
  • S.R. 15/E Main Street (Pahokee): Intermittent lane closures (8 a.m. – 6 p.m.), Jan 20 through Jan 23 for bus pad and curb ramp work.
  • U.S. 27/S.R. 25: Northbound outside shoulder closed Jan 20 (7 a.m. – 5 p.m.) for EAA Reservoir inflow-outflow canal bridge project.
  • Seminole Pratt Whitney Road:
  • At 71st Place N: Northbound lane closure and traffic shift for culvert installation.
  • At 75th Lane N: Traffic shift starting Wednesday, Jan 21.
  • 83rd Place to 86th Road: North and south bound traffic shift.
  • Corkscrew Boulevard: Periodic lane closures with flaggers from County Line to US 27 for milling and paving.
  • Okeechobee Boulevard (Royal Palm Beach): Periodic east and west bound right lane closure near Wildcat Way.
  • Pioneer Road (District 6): Periodic westbound lane closure with flaggers and southbound traffic shift at Benoist Farms Rd.

    UTILITY & MAINTENANCE UPDATES
  • FPL Pole Replacements/Underground Utility Work:
  • Ontario Drive and Crest Drive: Periodic lane closures with flaggers.
  • Weisman Way at Sansbury Way: Intersection improvements; periodic lane closures.
  • S. Cleary Road: Periodic southbound lane closure with flaggers (Dillman Rd to Pioneer Rd).
  • Kirk Road: Periodic southbound right lane closure for utility work.
  • Summit Boulevard (Village of Palm Springs): Periodic westbound right lane closure at S. Florida Mango Rd.
  • Gun Club Road: Periodic eastbound right lane closure west of Kirk Road.
  • Melaleuca Lane: Periodic eastbound right lane closure at Empire Way.
  • Hypoluxo Road at Via Amati: Periodic eastbound right turn lane closure.
  • Randolph Siding Road: Periodic northbound lane closure with flaggers.
  • Wallis Road: Periodic east and west bound lane closures with flaggers from Hach Lane to Marguerita Drive.
  • Bridge Lighting Maintenance: Periodic east and west bound lane closures with flaggers at the Bascule Bridge on E. Ocean Avenue.
