BOYNTON BEACH, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2026 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — Palm Beach County Fire Rescue on Thursday will officially open Station 49 — the brand new fire station on Lyons Road north of Atlantic. The gorgeous firehouse is as modern as a firehouse can be. Here’s the official spec sheet from Palm Beach County:

“Fire Station 49 is a 17,987-square-foot, modern facility designed to support safety, efficiency, and long-term service. The station includes 11 standard bunks and four administrative bunks, along with an 80′ × 80′ apparatus bay designed for efficient vehicle movement, cleaning, and equipment access.

The building incorporates a zoned safety design with clearly defined red, yelow, and green areas to reduce contaminant exposure, including dedicated decontamination spaces and clean-living quarters. Enhanced air quality is supported through positive-pressure systems and a dedicated HVAC unit that prevents cross-contamination.

Bi-fold apparatus bay doors allow for faster emergency response, while durable construction features-such as terrazzo flooring and metal cabinetry-ensure longevity, cleanliness, and reliability for decades of service.”

We’ll have more on the grand opening tomorrow.
