BY: ANDREW COLTON | Editor and Publisher | BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2026 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — A Palm Beach County school bus driver driving children to Calusa Elementary School in Boca Raton on Friday was captured on video eating, steering with his elbows, and watching videos on his cell phone. The bus, identified as Bus 46, was packed with children as young as 5 years old.
The video, which we are publishing in its entirety below, was provided to BocaNewsNow.com by concerned parents. According to parents, Calusa Elementary School administration was told of the issue on Friday but did not take any action to discipline or terminate the driver, instead referring parents to the Palm Beach County School District’s transportation office.
The transportation office, according to parents, also took no action. There has been no notification to parents that a different driver will be in place on Monday. The driver is identified by families contacting BocaNewsNow.com as “Yves.”
The video clearly shows the driver eating food, steering with his elbows, and watching videos from a phone on the dashboard of the school bus.
We have asked the Palm Beach County School District for a statement. If you have information regarding this driver, please use the comment section below, or email news (at) bocanewsnow.com, or text 561-576-NEWS.

Immediate suspension without pay pending an administrative hearing and then final termination is the only answer.
How can a school and school district have no response to concerned parents?
One problem is the dreadfully low pay of bus drivers who only get paid for a short drive in the morning and a short drive in the afternoon as it draws people who don’t care about their job and are generally unqualified for other jobs. This is no excuse for the driver who should be suspended then fired, but the reality of the type of employee who seeks out those type of jobs.
Someone should take action against the school for their total lack of concern for the lives of these children. This is outrageous and should trigger a full investigation. What would’ve happened. Had there been an accident at that point in time? I’m sure the school would have responded responsible people in that school also need to be terminated for their total incompetence.
