We Thought They’d Be Resolved Quickly. We Were Wrong.

BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2026 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — We get it. You trust us to tell you what’s going on, even if we think that thing isn’t a big deal and will likely be remedied quickly. Turns out we misjudged the issues created by several railway crossing issues this morning in Boca Raton, and then a bridge crossing issue. For those of you who sat in traffic: we apologize.
Here’s the deal: The City of Boca Raton alerted at 7:37 this morning the crossings in the area of I-95 and Palmetto Park Road and I-95 and Camino Real were malfunctioning and in the “down” position, blocking traffic. This actually happens with some frequency so we assumed motorists who deal with this would realize what was happening and head in a different direction. But we were wrong.
The crossing issues went on for more than an hour, ultimately being corrected at 8:46 a.m. Again, we assumed as each minute passed that the problem was about to be solved, so we didn’t send out an alert. That was our bad. We apologize. We try not to overdo the email blasts, but perhaps we should have blasted on this issue.
We also apologize that we didn’t alert that the Camino Bridge was inoperable for roughly 90 minutes at 11:06 a.m., as it was stuck in the up position. Again, it happens all the time, but we appreciate that it’s still annoying. We’ll increase our traffic-related blasts moving forward.
