BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2026 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — The Palm Beach County School Board is set to expel five students during a meeting on February 4th. The school district now releases very little information about the alleged infractions or the schools the accused attend. The following is the information that we are able to obtain.
We note that policy 5.1814 is the “Zero Tolerance” policy which the school district defines this way: “Florida law prohibits students from carrying weapons on school property. The state’s definition of weapons includes, among other things, the following items: Tasers, Firearms, Knives, Box cutters. The law requires that any student found in possession of a weapon, including a taser or electronic device, must be expelled for a period of one year.”
STUDENT 1
The Principal issued a referral for violation of the School Board Policy 5.1814. The student’s code of conduct offense was investigated and mitigating factors were considered. The student and family were provided opportunities for due process. I recommend the Board expel student 25/26-X-008 from the regular school program of the School District of Palm Beach County for one (1) calendar year from the date of the offense and that the student be allowed to enroll in a comprehensive campus on AUGUST 10, 2026, if certain conditions specified in the attached Final Order are met. I further recommend the attached Final Order be adopted and entered by the School Board.
