A burn ban is now in effect for all of Palm Beach County.

BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2026 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — A Burn Ban is in effect for all of Palm Beach County. Palm Beach County Fire Rescue issued this statement Tuesday afternoon:

>>Palm Beach County Fire Rescue Fire Marshal Chief David DeRita issues a countywide BURN BAN.

The Fire Marshal’s office is issuing a county-wide BURN BAN for all of Palm Beach County. The ONLY EXCEPTION is agriculture, which is under the jurisdiction of the Florida Forest Service.

This BURN BAN prohibits the following:

No yard waste burning No bonfires No fire pits No burning to clear land No ceremonial burning Residents shall refrain from burning anything outdoors until further notice.

The Keetch-Byram Drought Index (KBDI) measures soil moisture relative to rainfall and relative humidity. The KBDI is 645 today; anything above 600 puts fire officials on alert. 650 is considered extreme drought conditions.

Palm Beach County Fire Rescue will monitor this situation daily and provide updates as necessary.<<
