BROWARD COUNTY, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2026 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — A GoFundMe campaign has been launched for the family of Daniel West. He’s the 23-year-old Lantana man who police say drove into a pickup truck in Lighthouse Point days ago. He was ejected from his motorcycle and killed.
According to GoFundMe which shared information about the campaign with BocaNewsNow.com, Daniel’s mother’s employer is trying to help the family through a difficult time.
“Beverley West has been a dear friend and loyal employee to our business the past five years. On Sunday, February 8th, 2026, Beverley and her husband, Phillip’s world was turned upside down when their 23-year-old son, Daniel, was tragically killed in a motorcycle accident. Beverley and her family are good, hard-working people who have always given their best to those around them. Now, they are facing the unimaginable pain of losing a beloved son and brother, and the added stress of covering funeral expenses during this heartbreaking time.
The funds raised through this campaign will go directly toward Daniel’s funeral costs, helping to ease the financial burden on Beverley and her family. Here is what the Broward Sheriff’s Office shared about the February 8th crash:
“Detectives with the Broward Sheriff’s Office Traffic Homicide Investigation unit are investigating a crash involving a motorcycle and a vehicle that left a man dead in Lighthouse Point.
The fatal collision occurred just before 11:30 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 8, near the 4800 block of North Federal Highway. Detectives say Steven Evanosky was traveling in a 2002 Ford Ranger and was making a right turn to travel northbound on North Federal Highway from the McDonald’s parking lot. At the same time, Daniel West was riding a 2010 BMW S1000RR northbound on North Federal Highway and struck the driver’s side of the Ford Ranger. West was ejected from the motorcycle and came to a final rest in the rear truck bed of the Ford.
Lighthouse Point Fire Rescue pronounced West deceased on scene. Evanosky did not report any injuries. The investigation is ongoing.”
