A woman believed to be named “Lisa” repeatedly placed her dog on a child sitting near her on a JetBlue flight from PBI to LGA on Friday.

BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2026 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — A woman flying on a JetBlue flight Friday from Palm Beach International Airport to LaGuardia airport in New York City not only kept her “emotional support animal” on her lap during the ride, but repeatedly placed it on a random child from Boca Raton sitting in her row. The child at no time — according to several witnesses — gave the woman permission to place the dog on her. The child was in no way related to the woman.

Woman places dog on child
A woman identified as “Lisa” with dog “Ginger.” She allegedly repeatedly placed this dog on a random child in her row.

The woman, who we are identifying based on witnesses as “Lisa” with the dog named “Ginger,” apparently refused to follow federal requirements to keep the dog in a carrier under the seat in front of her. The “emotional support animal” ruse for free flying pets was stopped by the federal government in 2021. Emotional Support Animals are not legitimate “service animals” which are trained to provide a service other than to be fluffy and lick you.

When a flight attendant ultimately realized what was happening, she identified herself as a former cop and admonished the woman — telling her she wouldn’t tolerate her behavior. It’s unclear if the passenger faced further sanctions by JetBlue or if law enforcement was involved once the plane touched down in New York.

New York law suggests that placing an animal on someone without their permission could be considered “assault” if that animal scratches or otherwise causes harm to the individual.

  1. What a horrible person. Who would do this? Airlines need to a better job of screening these people who think it’s cute to bring their dogs on the plane. They need to be shoved in row 122, especially on a plane with just 30 rows.

  2. This is an unfortunate act on behalf of the passenger with the dog. Clearly, “Ginger” should of been kept in her carrier. Moreover, Boca Rudeton should also center upon repeated rude abd dangerous drivers that speed on a stretch of road between U.S. 1 and South Dixie Highway on East Camino Real with out fail on weekend evenings and weekly after 10 p.m.. These cars tend to be high performance vehicles that generate inordinate amount of noise that would be classified as not only illegal because of their high speeds, but also above and beyond “rude” and the lack of consideration for the Boca Raton Community. In summary, dangerous and inconsiderate behavior by the owners of these high performance vehicles.
